A revenge of an unsung Warrior.
Don’t you think love can do a lot of things to a human; Indeed it has the most power over people. It may make you stronger, or it can instantly demolish your entire being in seconds!
This is one such enraged and vengeful story of a loving son, an unsung warrior, a devotee of Shiva, a Chiranjeevi, and the only living survivor of Kurukshetra, the Drauni, who is most famously known as Ashwathama.
Because he is said to be a part that incarnates the Mahadeva, Ashwathama possessed the same valiance and gallantry as Lord Shiva. He played a vital role in Kurukshetra, and he was born with a gem on his forehead that gave him immense power.
It was virtually impossible for anyone to destroy or defeat him. According to mythology, Ashwathama killed more people during the 18-day deadliest war than Karna and Arjun combined.
Everyone involved in the fight was aware that Drona cannot be beaten while armed. The greatest Guru of the Kuravas and Pandavas was effectively assassinated by Dhristaymna on the tenth day of the battle of Kuukshetra after Krishna deceived and persuaded Dronacharya to disarm himself on the battlefield.
When the son learns that his father was deceived and murdered in his own name, he was so consumed with rage that he unleashes the Narayanaastra to massacre the Pandavas. Anger and love can make a sane man go insane; though it didn’t killed the Pandava brothers, it definitely killed preponderance soldier of the Pandava army.
Perhaps the wrath inclined when Bheem killed Duryodhana at the end of Kurukshetra and searched for Ashwathama. Even though he tactically hid himself from the eye sight of Pandavas, he planned to kill them during the night time when they were unarmed and vulnerable, even though it would break the rules of war. Because we know that "Everything is fair in love and war!"
In the dead of night, he let off the Agni astra and set the Pandava tent on fire. But destiny had other plans, and Ashwanthama wound up murdering five Pandavas' sons instead of Kunti's. Receiving the horrific news, Pandavas faced up to Ashwathama, who latterly untethered the Brahmashirsha Astra and Ajurn in the opposite invoked Pashupastra.
Vyasa was afraid to even consider the consequences of the clash of these two most potent astras because it was happening right in front of him in his own ashram. He asked Drauni and Arjun to retract their statements and put down the weapon. Arjun returned his weapon out of respect for the sage's word, but Drauni was never shown how to do so. Nevertheless, the anger inside the son who lost his father was still aflame, and instead of diverting the weapon into an uninhabited area, he drove it towards the womb of pregnant Uttara.
The sole woman to give birth to the Pandava heir was Uttara, the wife of Abhimanyu, the son of Arjun and Shubadra; this was a gruesome move to end the whole lineage of the Pandavas. Despite the fact that he was himself an incarnation of Shiva, Krishna was quite furious about this.
Krishna, however, cursed him for his heinous act. Krishna asked Ashwathama to surrender the gem on his forehead and also cursed him to roam in the forest with blood oozing out of his injuries and that death would never meet him for 3000 years, even though he would cry and beg for his death. Many people still think that Drauni is out there somewhere, wailing for death.
